HS Project: ‘Influences on parents-to-be’
Summary
This research focuses on the factors influencing childbearing decisions of parents-to-be, including couples, such as socioeconomic status, culture, health, and policy. Using a mix of quantitative and qualitative research (Q-study), we collect personal experiences from (young) adults in various neighborhoods in Rotterdam to identify patterns in their choices and doubts. We also map how these parents-to-be feel about participating in preconception programs. The aim is to gain a better understanding of how people in different neighborhoods shape their desire to have children, ultimately contributing to the improvement of the health and opportunities of the next generation.
