Dr. Yared Abayneh Abebe is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Hydraulic Structures and Flood Risk Section, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at TU Delft. He is mainly involved in the PDPC project Frontrunner 3: Pandemic lessons for flood disaster preparedness.” His current research investigates the effects of large-scale floods on healthcare facilities, assessing both direct and indirect flood impacts and analyzing the effectiveness of various preparedness strategies. He actively collaborates with researchers in patient logistics, crisis management, and healthcare systems governance from TU Delft, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Erasmus MC. Yared’s background and broader research interests lie in disaster risk management related to floods and hurricanes, including hazard, exposure and vulnerability analysis and impact assessment.
