Keynote by Dr. Bardia Arabkhani

Dr. Bardia Arabkhani is a leading cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in aortic surgery at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. After earning his medical degree and a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology from Erasmus University, he completed his residency at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Dr. Arabkhani has become an expert in aortic valve and root surgery, valve-sparing aortic root replacement procedures, cardiopulmonary transplants, total arterial CABG’s, and aortic arch repairs. His work is distinguished by the use of advanced technologies and innovative approaches to treating complex and high-risk conditions. Not only is Dr. Arabkhani a skilled surgeon, he is also a pioneer in medical innovation. He is currently developing an intra-operative tool (AVP device) for evaluating the aortic valve during valve-sparing procedures, aimed at improving the precision and safety of these operations. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Arabkhani serves as chairman of the innovation committee “Heart Valve of the Future” within EACTS, where he is committed to shaping the future of heart valve surgery. With his passion for innovation, patient care, and scientific research, he is making a significant contribution to the advancement of cardiothoracic surgery. |
