Healthy Start Ambition Lead, Assistant Professor
Daniëlle Remmerswaal is Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, and Ambition Lead within Healthy Start for ambition 4, “Mental Wellbeing of Youth.” Her research focuses on socio-emotional development, stress management, and innovation through mobile interventions to strengthen emotional self-regulation.
She also serves as academic lead of the Student Wellbeing Programme, a major initiative at EUR that assesses how students cope with stress and mental challenges. In this role, she oversaw the creation of the Student Wellbeing Monitor and the Student Wellbeing Platform, which includes e-coaching, workshops, and digital tools to make mental support more accessible.
Within Healthy Start, Daniëlle combines her expertise in e-mental health and social support with co-creation alongside young people and societal partners. This allows evidence-based interventions to be integrated into education and healthcare practice. Her goal is to make emotional wellbeing as natural a priority in schools and care settings as general wellbeing.
