Annabel Vreeker

Annabel Vreeker is Assistant Professor of Child and Family Studies at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences and Ambition Co-Lead within Healthy Start. Her research focuses on emotional wellbeing and resilience in youth, with particular attention to children and adolescents at increased risk of developing psychological problems.

She contributes to projects that identify factors influencing the development or prevention of mood disorders and studies how young people can be better supported in their daily lives. In addition, she develops and evaluates innovative digital interventions, such as apps that help young people monitor emotions and strengthen positive coping strategies.

Within Healthy Start, Annabel combines scientific research with co-creation alongside youth and societal partners. In doing so, she contributes to the development of practical, evidence-based interventions that strengthen mental wellbeing in education and healthcare.
